Tämä narsissi on varmaankin yksi vaikeimpia malleja joita olen tehnyt. Opin tämän alkujaan Origami Finlandin illanvietossa. Kiitokset Juholle opastuksesta! Jälkeenpäin löysin saman ohjeen myös Ashley Woodin kirjasta. Sama kirja tiesi kertoa myös alkuperäisen suunnittelijan nimen: Ted Norminton.
Kukka tehdään yhdestä kuusikulmaisesta paperista. Aloitin 20 cm x 20 cm kokoisesta neliöarkista, jonka leikkasin kuusikulmioksi. Alku etenee hiukan samaan tapaan kuin perinteinen lilja. Näinkin suuren paperin kanssa taittelu muuttuu loppua kohden vaikeaksi kun taitoksia tulee monta päällekkäin. Hankalin oli vaihe jossa kukkatorvi muotoiltiin lopulliseen muotoonsa. Lopputulos on kuitenkin varsin elävän näköinen.
This daffodil is one of the most difficult models I have tried. I learned it in a meeting of Origami Finland (thanks to Juho!). Later I found the instructions in a book of Ashley Wood, where I also learned that the model is a design of Ted Norminton.
The flower is folded from a single hexagonal sheet of paper. I started from a 20cm x 20cm square sheet which I cut into the shape of a hexagon. In the beginning the folding sequence resembles that of the traditional lily. Even with this large a paper, the multiple folds at later stages make the folding challenging. The most difficult part was the final shaping of the flower horn. The final flower result looks amazingly real.
