Nämä ruusut tein japanilaisesta washi-paperista. Paperin elävä pinta tekee siitä erityisen sopivan kukkien materiaaliksi. Jokainen kukinto on koottu neljästä erikokoisesta, neliönmuotoisesta arkista, jotka on taiteltu samalla tavalla ja aseteltu sisäkkäin. Verholehdet taittelin vihreästä washi-paperista. Lehdet leikkasin samasta paperista ja kiinnitin liimalla varteen. Varret on tehty kukkarautalangasta.
Hayashin kirjassa on useita ruusumalleja, mutta tämä on mielestäni aidoimman näköinen.
These roses are made of Japanese washi paper. The texture of the washi paper makes it particularly well suited for flowers. Each blossom is made of four sheets of different sizes, folded in the same way and layered to form a blossom. The calyx is made of one sheet of green washi paper. I cut the leaves out of washi paper and attached them to the stem with glue. The stems I made of florar wire.
The book of Hiromi Hayashi contains several models for a rose. From them this one looks the most real.
